Owner/Founder
Foster Funeral Home was founded in 1960 by Mrs. Hazel Foster Christmas. She was born fourth of seven children to Reverend Robert Lee Foster and Myrtle Godwin Foster. A lifetime resident of Tippah County, Mrs. Foster became widely known in the 1940’s as she established Foster’s Cosmetology and Barber College. In 1960, she continued to broaden her business venture, by becoming and a licensed funeral director and opening Foster Funeral Home, known today as Foster and Son Funeral Home. Believing education was very important, Mrs. Foster maintained her strive for excellence and attended Rust College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Today, Mrs. Foster is retired; and the family-owned and operated funeral home is managed by her son, Allen Christmas.
