Walter Yancey Obituary

Walter Richard Yancey was born May 2, 1971 in Ripley, MS to “Queen” Yancey and the late James Yancey. He departed his earthly home October 7, 2022.

Walter didn’t belong to a church but he did attend several services, throughout his life. Walter, like all the Yancey brothers and their father shared a love for fishing and wild game.

Walter leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Barbara Gleen Yancey; stepdaughter, Myesha Gleen; mother, Queen Yancy; nine brothers, Ricky; James Jr., Joe, Cluster, Sammy, Charles, Jimmie, Maurice, Ray all of Ashland and Corinth, Mississippi; one sister, Debra Evans of Corinth, MS; sister in laws; nieces; nephews, cousins and other friends.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, James Yancy; brother, Otis Yancy; stepson, Marcus Gleen, his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at 9:00a-2:00p at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley, MS. Funeral service will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at 2:00p at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley, MS. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Ashland, MS.
