Vera M Johnson
Obituary
Vera Mae Johnson, age 76, was granted her wings on November 30, 2022. Vera was born on November 15, 1946, to the late Santo and Doris Blackwell in Ripley, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board, Purple Missionary Team, and Herod of Jericho Court #553. During her work history, she was employed at American Biltrite (Rubber Plant) and retired after 25 years. She was married to the late James Franklin John- son and to this union five children were born, Angela, Keith, Leonard, Cathita, and Brandie.
To cherish her memories, she leaves her children: Angela (W.J.) Mosley of Ripley, MS, Keith Johnson, Kuwait, Leonard Johnson of Ripley, MS, Cathita (Harry) Richardson, Waterford, MS, Brandie (Lisa) Johnson, LaGrange, GA. Two sisters: Bobbie Jean (Dennis) Buggs and Louise (Stanley) Spight and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2022, from 12p-7p at Foster & Son Funeral Home, Ripley, MS with the family present from 5p-7p. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 10, 2022, 11a at Bethlehem MBC, Falkner, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will follow at Ruckersville Cemetery, Falkner, MS.
