Rosie L Preston

Mrs. Rosie Lee Preston, age 89 was born March 10,1933 to the late Jamie Boyd in Tippah County. She was raised by her aunt the late Nannie Boyd (Henry) Spight. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley, MS.

She was a longtime resident of Jackson, MS. While in Jackson she was a private nanny and housekeeper for nearly 60 years. She was a faith- ful member of Whiteoak MBC in Jackson, MS until her death.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter: Virgie Spight. Four grand- children; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Also, she leaves to cherish in loving memo- ries: three nieces: Elizabeth Boyd of Ripley, MS: Sharon Hamer and Mary Joyce Rucker both of Blue Mountain, MS. Five nephews: Oscar Lee Boyd, James Boyd and Ronnie Boyd all of Ripley, MS and Ricky Boyd, Tim Boyd of Blue Mountain, MS. One special great nephew Deragus Cox of Gonzales, Louisiana and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 12-7p at Foster & Son Funeral Home, Ripley, MS, with the family present from 5p-7p. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 2pm at St. James COGIC, Ripley, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the
church. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Ripley, MS.
