Mary Joyce Rainer-Peterson

Mary Joyce Rainer-Peterson was born March 11,1947, to the late Clarence and Ceola Gibbs-Rainer. She departed this life unexpectedly Wednesday September 19, 2022.

Mary Joyce lived a committed life of caring for loved ones as well as extended family. She was present in their lives when they needed her
most. She was unselfish with an abundance of love which dwelled deep within her heart and soul.
Mary Joyce as a child love playing with her siblings often tagging along filled with joy as she was the youngest, she loved her music and playing her vintage album collection on her record player.

Over the years, Mary Joyces life would make pivotal changes with all roads leading home to "the heart wants, what the heart wants-her true love Charlie Peterson". Blessed with true love in her life, she married husband Charlie Peterson in 1997. Mary Joyce worked at a few local factories for many years, she would later become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) caring for beloved
community members at nursing home and elsewhere when needed. She worked in housekeeping until her untimely passing.

Mary Joyce is survived by brother Billy Joe Rainer and wife Noreen, stepsisters Ruby Nesbit, Glads Pope and stepbrothers James Dyer and Ruther Dyer, stepchildren James Curtis and Jeannie Peterson-McBride, nieces Wanda Hines, Janice Cherry and Deborah Edgeston; nephews Louis Hines Jr., James Hines; John Hines, Greg Rainer, Richard Rainer and Travis Rainer along with many great nieces and nephews.

Also, she is survived by God Sisters Mary Ruckers (TC), Lillie B. Leatherwood -Best Friend, Catherine Gipson (Henry) and Linda Leatherwood; God Brother McArthur Leatherwood (Ida) and
Godchildren Clifford Leatherwood (Charlotte) and Donald Leatherwood.
