Obituary
James Lewis Rutherford, age 70, was born in Blue Mountain, MS on March 16, 1952, to the late Leon and Sarah Rutherford. He gained his wings at his home on November 22, 2022.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Beulah Hill Baptist Church. He worked in construction at Colom Construction for 34 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother: Sarah Rutherford of Blue Mountain, MS. Four children; Falanda (Louis) Morrow of Hickory Valley, TN, James L. (Angela) Rutherford, Kizzie Rutherford, and Jamar Rutherford all of Ripley, MS. Two stepchildren; Deldrick Carroll of Ripley, MS and Martice (Katese) Rutherford of Tupelo, MS. Three sisters; Mae Francis Ingram of Aurora, IL, Cora Mae (Sammy) Chills and Ruby (Riley) Bennett of Blue Mountain, MS. Four brothers; Thomas (Patricia) Rutherford, Bobby Rutherford, Herman Rutherford all of Blue Mountain, MS and Haywood Rutherford of Ripley, MS. Twenty grandchildren, nine great-grand- children and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 12pm-7pm with the family present from 5pm-7pm at Foster & Son Funeral Home, Ripley, MS. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, 2pm at New Birth Community Church, New Albany, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Blue Mountain, MS.
