Douglas Lachrista Knox, age 60, was born on June 18, 1962 to the late Harvie Lee and Ruth Knox of Ripley, MS. He departed this life at his home in Blue Mountain, MS on February 27, 2023. Douglas professed Christ at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and later moved his membership to House of Freedom where he remained a faithful member until death. Douglas had a gift of helping others and he loved the Los Angeles Lakers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was preceded in death by his father: Harvie Lee Knox and his mother: Ruth S. Knox. Douglas leaves to cherish his memories one son: Demetric Knox
(Dr. Jessica Knox); one grandson: Harrison Knox; four sisters: Beverly Knox, Brenda Knox of Milwaukee, WI, Barbara Knox and Sandra Johnson (Gary Johnson); two brothers: Earl Knox (Betty Knox) and Melvin Knox all of Blue Mountain, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2023, from 12p -7p at Foster and Son Funeral Home , Ripley, MS; with the family present from 5p-7p. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 4,2023, 11am at Unity Temple Holiness Church, New Albany, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Internment will follow at Academy Cemetery, Blue Mountain, Ms.
