Life began for Brenda Lee McDonald-Brooks, age 62, on April 6, 1961, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley, MS to Annette Simmons and the late Thomas Earl McDonald.
She graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1978. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of the St. John M.B.C where she served in the choir & usher board until her health failed. She was employed at Foot Caress, Prentiss Factory, BenchCraft & Plumrose USA and she retired after 35 years. She was joined in holy matrimony in 1996 to Robert Brooks and one son was born to this union and together they also raised her oldest son.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her mother, Annette McDonald; mother/ father-in-law, Patsy & Bileto Brooks; husband, Robert Brooks, one son, Rafael "Roc" McDonald all of Ripley, MS. Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers; Kirk (Marlea) McDonald and Derric McDonald all of Ripley, MS; five sisters, Elaine (Warren) Riddle, Jona Woods, Rita McDonald, Demetria "Kally" McDonald all of Ripley, MS and Mary "Baba" (Calvin) Finger of Memphis, TN., and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2023, at Foster & Son Funeral Home, Ripley, MS from 12p-7p with the family present from 5p-7p. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 14, 2023, 1pm, at St. John M.B.C, Ripley, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Ripley, MS.
