Ada Fay was born on May 31st, 1943, to Willie and Mayree Colyer of Ripley, MS. Ada Fay Ruckes, 80, of Ripley, MS passed away peacefully at her home on August 21st, 2023.
She attended Tippah County High School and was part of the class of 1961. In 1966 Ms. Ruckes welcomed her only child Louis Ruckes III into the world. Ms. Ruckes started her work-life adventure at Walmart, where she worked for 22 years as an Assistant Manager before retiring.
Ada Fay became a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church at a young age where she began her journey through Christ. She has always been a faithful servant to the Lord. Ms. Ruckes enjoyed working outside, including tending to her beautiful flowers and plants. She loved cooking, spending time with her family, and serving her community.
Memories will continue to be shared by three granddaughters, Rebbecca Ruckes (Sherrod) of Ripley, Kaitland Ruckes of Ripley, and Alexandria Ruckes of Ripley; two great-grandchildren, Mia E. Ruff and Jaxon L. Ruff; one sister Georgia M. Rogers of Blue Mountain; and one brother James W. (Marilyn) Colyer of Ripley.
Those preceding her include her parents Willie and Mayree Colyer, her son Louis Ruckes III, ex daughter-in-law Tammy Ruckes, sisters Billie R. Kennon (Chicago, ILL.), Annie L. Adkins (Chicago, ILL), and Yvonne E. Colyer (Ripley, MS) and brothers Lamar Colyer (Chicago ILL) and Lee Earl Colyer (Chicago, ILL).
Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, from 12p-7p at Foster & Son Funeral Home in Ripley, MS; with the family present from 5p-7p. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11a at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at White Oak Cemetery in Ripley, MS.
