Juanita Thomas

Juanita Thomas, 90, was born on October 28, 1928 to the late Fred Griffin and Ethel Braddock. She departed her earthly life on April 24, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS.

Throughout her life, Juanita was an active member of Adkins Chapel.  She was a graduate of Rust College. Juanita was a “people person” and she loved to share. If anyone needed anything, she was more than willing to lend a helping hand. She loved to share stories about life and events. She had a passion for gardening and sewing. Among other things, she was a cosmetologist and loved to do hair.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Olanders Thomas of Ripley, MS; grandchildren: Shalonda Mosby and Olanders Thomas, Jr. of Chicago, IL and Corey Thomas of Jackson, MS; siblings: Fred Griffin, Sam Griffin, Emma Griffin, Nellie Mae Griffin, Odella Griffin, and Eliz Griffin all of Memphis, TN; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 12:00 noon-6:00 pm at Foster and Son Funeral Home in Ripley, MS. Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Mt.
