Charlotte Haddix Obituary

Charlotte Ann Haddix, 59, was born September 4, 1959 to the late Samuel and Emma Haddix.  She was the fifth of six children and the “baby” sister of the family. She departed her earthly life on August 29, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS.

Charlotte attended Middleton High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1977.  She loved school and received a “Perfect Attendance Award” for not missing school for more than seven years.

She confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at New Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church.  She sang Soprano in the Choir and served as Secretary/Business Administrator of the church.  She was a faithful member and regular attender until her health began to fail.

Charlotte attended West TN Business College in Jackson, TN and received a degree in Micro-Computer Information Processing.  After graduation, she decided to make a career change and entered the field of Law Enforcement.  She became a Correctional Officer for the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department.  She also served at the Hardeman County Developmental Center.  After working for 18 plus years in the Correctional field, she left to enter the field of education, sharing her passion for children in the classroom.

She served as a Teacher’s Assistant at Middleton High School and later Grand Junction Elementary School.  When her health began to fail, she retired from the Hardeman County Board of Education in 2014.

She was a member of the Middleton Civitan Club and the Independent Society #3.

Although Charlotte had no children of her own, she was a faithful Co-parent, God Mother and Fantastic Aunt not only to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great niece, but to other children as well, especially to the children who were fortunate enough to be in her classroom.

Charlotte was opinionated and loved to argue with anybody who would give her an audience.  She will be desperately missed at our family functions where we could always count on her to be brutally honest about everything.

What a loving sister…what a wonderful daughter…what a phenomenal woman.  We’ll miss you baby sister but we praise God that your suffering is over.  Rest well!!
