Mary Lee Turner was born on March 11, 1930 to Ben and Lizzie Scott, the fourth daughter and the ninth child. Mary Lee was the knee baby. She attended the Ruckersville School as a child. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age at Bethlehem (Ruckersville) Church where she remained a member.

Mary Lee later married Esau Turner of Plantersville, MS where they lived for a short time. Mary Lee was a homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, and work in her flowers. Her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and children of the community loved to be around her. She held a special place in her heart first grandchild, Tabitha whom she loving called “Tampa.”

She leaves to cherish her memories: one child, Fannie (Jimmy) Vance of Ripley, MS; one brother, Walter Scott; four grandchildren: Tabitha of Jackson, TN, Jaqueline of New Albany, MS, Terrence of Ripley, MS and Dominic of Walnut, MS; twelve great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Lizzie Scott; her husband, Esau Turner; three brothers: Ike Braddock, DC Scott, and Robert Scott; four sisters: Maggie Johnson, Fannie Jeanes, Lula Rogers, and N.C. Wade.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4pm – 7 pm at Foster and Son Funeral Home in Ripley, MS.  Service will be Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2pm at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Falkner, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.  Interment will follow at Ruckersville Cemetery in Falkner, MS.  Services entrusted to Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley, MS.
